Project Fame 7.0: Academy Day 39: Contestants Thrill Kids During A Charity Visit

On the 28th of august, 2014, the contestants of the MTN Project Fame house visited the children’s developmental centre. They were warmly welcomed to the centre and given a brief history of the place. The children’s developmental centre was said to have been established two decades ago and are dedicated to working with children and adult that have developmental disabilities. The centre not only supports children and their families but also supports ministering schools, healthcare workers and everyone with disabilities requiring support.

The contestants interacted with the children of the centre and we’re reminded that when they become famous, they should always remember to turn around and look back to help people requiring it.

The adolescents and children group of the centre also did a drama presentation for the visiting contestants. The contestants cheered on as the children of the centre sang and danced during their presentation.

Uncle Ben told the centre it was a pleasure for them to make the charity visit. The contestants then presented “Heal the world” by Michael Jackson, “Back on my feet again” by Michael Bolton and Happy by Pharell Williams. The Principal, Mummy J said it was an honour and Blessing to be amongst children of the centre. That they were full of life and had an aura of happiness around them.

Flourish on behalf of the contestants said they were honoured to entertain them.

The contestants later performed different songs to the delight of everyone.

Geoffrey performed “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson, he said it was a memorable experience which he wouldn’t forget in a lifetime. Shola “Don’t Judge Me” by Chris Brown. He said it was amazing and it showed what an act of kindness can do in a man’s life. Emeka performed Ada Ada by Flavour, saying there was no excuse for anyone to fail.

Clement performed “Back on my feet again”, saying he was touched and would turn back to help in the near future. Ugo performed “Numb” by encore to the delight of the kids. He said he was proud to be on the platform to show care. Christian sang “What’s Going On”, saying he was thrilled. Taiwo said this was a reminder to the fact that there are needy people in the society. Flourish sang Alicia Key’s “Girl on Fire”. She said it was an awesome experience. 

More so, Daniella performed “Fire on the Mountain” by Asa. She described the experience as awesome. Debbie said there are people that look beyond their disabilities and there’s always something to look up to. Rukky performed Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”. She said  she was happy and could do it all day.

All the contestant, in conclusion, performed Happy by Pharell Williams as they danced and took photographs with the children of the house.
